The Order of the Fleur d'Æthelmearc (normally referred to simply as 'the Fleur') is the Order of High Merit for Arts and Sciences in the Kingdom of Æthelmearc. The award carries a Grant of Arms, allowing the members to style themselves as "The Honorable" (TH) Lord / Lady / Noble [SCA Name]. The most common form of address sans name is Your Lordship / Ladyship.
The version of the handbook posted here is the most current edition, last revised September 2019.
The Principle of the Order is Master Daniel del Cavallo.
The Clerk of the Order currently is Master Casimir Zelený z Strášná skála.
The first members inducted into the Order were Geirný Þorgrímsdóttir and Daniel del Cavallo on 11 October 1997 during the reign of Yngvar and Caryl.
The most recent member inducted into the Order is Sefa Vefari on 6 August 2024 during the reign of Murdoch and Ríoghnach.
As of 6 August 2024, there are 317 Companions of the Order of the Fleur d'Æthelmearc.
Companions of the Fleur d'Æthelmearc include artisans and scientists spanning a great range of subject matter from pure research to the creation of high quality finished works. Many Order members can also be found teaching at numerous events throughout the kingdom. Members are listed three ways: date of induction, region & local group, or by art/science. On the Member pages, highlighted names link to individual biographies. The Resources page includes links to individual member blogs and/or websites.
If you are a member of the Order, you can check the schedule to learn about upcoming meetings, survey dates, and other activities intended for the membership. Be advised that the schedule is subject to change on short notice, and if there is a discrepancy between the schedule posted here and any scheduled activity posted at the main kingdom website, the kingdom website takes priority.
If you know of someone living within the Kingdom of Æthelmearc who is particularly skilled in an art or science, regularly shares their knowledge with others, and comports themselves in a manner worthy of nobility, you can recommend them for acceptance into the Order. The form linked from this button sends your recommendation to Their Majesties, Their Highnesses, and the Clerk of the Order. This form can also be used to provide updates and commentary on someone previously nominated.
